A beautiful very fine banknote from Belgium. This is the 1938 five francs or Cinq Francs. The banknote is blue on light brown underprint and having the portrait of King Albert and Queen Elisabeth at left of the front. The front also has a white circle to the right at the bottom with the word Tresorerie, and having the water mark. The front also has two signatures. The back shows a seated man looking at supposedly a factory scene and displays the same two signatures as the front. The front is written in French while the back is written in Flemish. This particular note has the serial number 378725 and is series J16. The banknote has a water mark depicting the head of a man in profile facing left in the white circle at the bottom right of the front. The note still retains quite a bit of its original crispiness.
