Sterling Silver-FLORAL& BEAD-Sugar Siifter

This lovely piece is a Sterling Silver Sugar Sifter. The gracefully shaped handle alone measures 4.5”. The beautifully shaped, pierced and fluted bowl alone measures 1 3/16” front to back and approximately 1.5” side to side at the widest point. You will notice that three pierced flowers appear as part of the bowl design. The raised pattern at the crest is composed of flowers and scrolls. Sharp, crisp beading runs almost entirely around the handle along the edges. Engraved with a fancy script monogram, which appears to be a V superimposed upon a D. The reverse is marked with the maker’s mark of a horse head, as well as STERLING and 925/1000. I believe this horse head mark is that of the Glenna and Co. Of Rochester, NY, whose business was established in 1876. It is in excellent condition and could be used for many serving purposes.
