Condition: Used, partially working condition. Printer mechanism works, but print head does not seem to work. Calculator and display work, but the decimal point for each digit is always on. Needs new NiCd batteries. Sold as-is.

Description

This is a Vintage Sharp Elsimate EL-8051 Printing Calculator. It was made in 1976, and has a vacuum fluorescent display. The printing mechanism feeds paper and the print head goes back and forth, but I could not get it to print anything, so there may be an issue with the print head. The calculator portion works, but the decimal point is always lit for all the digits. The rechargeable batteries are corroded and need replacement. It believe the power input is center pin negative, and it needs a 6V power supply that will provide 1.5-2 A, which will power the calculator with the battery pack disconnected.
Due to the age of the unit, it is being sold as-is with no guarantee of functionality.
